The reason behind this new change is to relax travel instructions for all the people who are traveling for half-term holidays. The Prime Minister announced on Monday that the day 2 lateral flow test is going to be removed for fully vaccinated travelers so no longer will you have to Undertake a Day 2 test.
This new change will come into effect as of from 11 February 04:00 hrs. GMT. This is particularly in time for the half-term break of schools.
The strictness for passenger locator form is also going to be made easy and simple from February and the completion time of this form will be made 72 hours instead of 48 hours. And as far now everyone must fill out the passenger locator form no matter whether they are vaccinated or not. All these relaxations are made because they want the country to be open for travel and business. These measures come after the rules when they said that fully vaccinated travelers will not take a pre-departure test before they travel.
THE TRAVEL INDUSTRY IS AT EASE
The travel industry is very happy and content after the relaxation of restrictions and they welcome this new change in the rule ahead of the holidays in February. Chief executive of the UK’s largest airline along with other airline operators who would want all the testing for travel to be a thing of the past and not in the future.
Business leaders from within the Travel Industry have said that removing the day 2 lateral flow tests will be a good chance for all those families ahead of the school holidays. These new measures will allow people to freely travel without worrying about testing and without spending so much money on tests.
